In Alaska I saw these beautiful creatures.  They have this mean look of "don't tangle with me" and that is what I wanted to create in my eagle to draw people into the painting.  The Bald Eagles are off the endangered list now and are thriving.

The mountains in the painting are from the snow capped mountains around Banff.  It had snowed high up in the mountains the day we arrived.  The sun was cutting across the top peaks and it was magnificent to see. The Eagle and the sun capped mountains with a darken threatening sky makes this impressive painting.
